Carrie & me, Julie Hammer, artist blog post

I would like to introduce you to my sister, Carrie Berndt. We grew up in a home where our mom was always creating something! So the fact that we are both artists is no surprise. Although our creative outlets are quite different, we have a bond as sisters and artists that is precious! Here’s Carrie:

“Hey! I’m Carrie….of The Cat’s Pajamas. I’m an artist, funkster, and creator of one-of-a-kind goodies including bags, pillows, and jewelry. I use plenty of vintage and reused what-not to whip up a bit of whimsy/wonder that you will want to use for all practical and not-so-practical purposes.”

Here are a few photos to give you a taste of her fabulous wares. First are her various styles of bags, including backpacks and clutches. Notice the vintage tapestries, belts, fringe and baubles that she uses!

Carrie offers her beautiful wares for sale online through social media, in various boutiques and in upscale arts & crafts shows and markets across the country. To see more of her work, and stay up to date on her new products and shows, you can click here to follow her on Facebook and Instagram.

Here we are together at one of the “40 Goin’ North” camper weekends that my sisters and friends partake of every year. You can read about that here: Happy Camper Blog Post.

I am so thankful for my sister and the unique, creative, inspirational person she is. She faces life head-on, eyes fixed on Jesus, with a merry heart. She “carries” fun and whimsy with her and I guarantee, you will have plenty of laughs when you spend time with her!
