This whimsical vintage camper painting was a delight for me to create! Such fun to combine a variety of colors and elements! I painted it using turquoise color for the camper and red for the awning, pillow and other accent features. After creating the original painting, I digitally altered the colors of the camper and accents to create different color choices. So I offer the turquoise & red option of the original, a dark red & gold option, as well as a lime green & yellow option. More color options will be added in the future. Additionally, I offer personalization so you can choose whatever colors you want for the camper and accent features. I also offer name personalization so you can have a name of your choice in place of the “Welcome” sign on the camper! Why did I paint this cute camper painting? I’m glad you asked! Well. I have these sisters; actually a sister and two sisters-in-law, who are vintage camper junkies! (Aren’t we cute in our fancy vintage attire?)
These sisters and a bunch of girl friends each have adorable vintage camper trailers, which they have restored and decorated to fit their individual personalities and are simply charming!
My sisters and friends all live near each other, so every summer they converge in the mountains of Idaho with their vintage campers circled up for a weekend together, which they call “40 Goin’ North”.
Each year, one of the gals is appointed as the “Queen Bee” who organizes the event, selects the location and themes for the weekend and coordinates all the details. The weekend consists of relaxing in each others company, frolicking in nature, and enjoying delicious cuisine! And of course, all of the tableware and decor are quite retro and vintage!
Many costumes are involved for the various themed evenings, and much merriment and leisure is had by all! I have had the pleasure of joining them on two of their excursions and they were quite memorable experiences! Here are a couple of pictures of me from my times with them!
My sisters and friends have created a marvelous tradition and I know that there are many other groups of vintage, retro camper gals across the country who enjoy similar camping experiences. I believe it’s healthy to spend time and effort to create memories with our loved ones which will last a life time!
